Passing the winning post on the first occasion, COLUMBUS COUNTY was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SINGAPORE SLING when being steadied to obtain cover behind that horse. COLUMBUS COUNTY then continued to be awkwardly placed close to the heels of SINGAPORE SLING which shifted out when being steadied to obtain cover behind CHEFANO.
Passing the 600 Metres, DANCES WITH DRAGON was awkwardly placed behind FURORE.
Passing the 500 Metres, PLAYA DEL PUENTE was inconvenienced by DANCES WITH DRAGON which was crowded for room outside FURORE (J Moreira) which shifted to the outside of EXULTANT to obtain clear running. J Moreira was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
Passing the 300 Metres, COLUMBUS COUNTY was directed to the outside of EXULTANT to obtain clear running.
A veterinary inspection of TIME WARP immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
FURORE and EXULTANT were sent for sampling.
