HARMONY SPIRIT shifted out at the start and bumped SINCERE BOY.
GOLFMAN STAR began very awkwardly and bumped the inside of its gate on jumping. GOLFMAN STAR was then bumped by GUNNISON shortly after the start.
Passing the 800 Metres, HARMONY SPIRIT raced tight inside LOYAL BABY which got its head on the side and lay in away from MAN STAR.
LOYAL BABY raced tight inside MAN STAR near the 600 Metres.
Passing the 150 Metres, GOLFMAN STAR momentarily raced in restricted room inside SKY SHOW which got its head on the side and shifted in before being corrected by its rider.

After the race, Z Purton (GOLFMAN STAR) reported that after having to ride his mount along in the early stages to obtain a forward position, GOLFMAN STAR did not travel strongly at any stage of the race. He said GOLFMAN STAR was always off the bridle and was never able to travel comfortably. He said GOLFMAN STAR then came under pressure rounding the Home Turn and did not finish off the race. He added he recommended to connections that they consider adding blinkers to the gear of GOLFMAN STAR in its future starts having regard to the manner in which it failed to travel today. A veterinary inspection of GOLFMAN STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
