Steward Report Predict Pace Map
MR CROISSANT shifted out at the start and inconvenienced BEAUTY FIT. AMAZING ONE PLUS began awkwardly and from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 850 Metres, MR CROISSANT was steadied away from the heels of MISTER SNOWDON (Apprentice C L Chau) which shifted in as MASTER MONTARO improved to its outside. Apprentice Chau was severely reprimanded and told that in the opinion of the Stewards he should have made a greater effort to prevent his mount from shifting in at this stage. He was further told in future to ensure that he takes all reasonable endeavours to prevent his mounts from shifting ground and causing interference to other runners. Approaching the 100 Metres, K Teetan (CALIFORNIADEEPSHOT) dropped his whip. After the race, J Moreira stated that, in his opinion, SIGHT SUCCESS’ disappointing performance was attributable to the horse not being able to see out the 1400 Metres of today’s race at its first time of asking. He said SIGHT SUCCESS travelled well inside CALIFORNIADEEPSHOT in the middle stages, however, was not able to quicken rounding the Home Turn and immediately came under pressure in the early part of the Straight. He said he continued to ride SIGHT SUCCESS out after the 300 Metres, however, the horse commenced to give ground and as the horse was well beaten, he did not ride it out over the latter stages of the race. He added that SIGHT SUCCESS may be better suited in races over shorter than that of today’s race. Mr J Size, the trainer of SIGHT SUCCESS, stated that at this stage he was unsure of SIGHT SUCCESS’ immediate programme given the manner in which it failed to finish off the race today over 1400 Metres. A veterinary inspection of SIGHT SUCCESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SIGHT SUCCESS, which finished at the rear of the field, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SIGHT SUCCESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of AMAZING ONE PLUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MISTER SNOWDON, MASTER MONTARO and BEAUTY FIT were sent for sampling.
