STAR OF WUYI was slow to begin. VICTORY MORE began only fairly. ABOVE ALL began awkwardly. JADE THEATRE shifted out at the start, resulting in SIMPLE DOCTRINE being crowded for room inside MASTER OF FUN which became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by SIMPLE DOCTRINE. After the 600 Metres, RUBY STARS was left racing wide and without cover. When racing wide and without cover, RUBY STARS got its head on the side and lay out approaching and passing the 500 Metres. MASTER OF FUN got its head on the side and lay out making the turn after the 600 Metres. Approaching the 300 Metres, WINNING STRIKES and TREASURE OF FIELD bumped. Then near the 250 Metres, WINNING STRIKES shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of TREASURE OF FIELD. After the 300 Metres, MUDITA was shifted out away from the heels of MASTER OF FUN. After the race, J Moreira was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of MUDITA. He said after shifting his mount across from the outside barrier in the early stages, he was able to obtain cover in a position behind midfield. He said after being placed under heavy pressure prior to the Home Turn, MUDITA did not respond to his riding and failed to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection of MUDITA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of WINNING STRIKES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ABOVE ALL and TREASURE OF FIELD were sent for sampling.
