RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE began awkwardly and then was crowded for room on jumping between AHEAD A HEAD and ROYAL CAMPBELL which shifted out. HANDSOME REBEL shifted out at the start and inconvenienced GOOD BEAUTY. After this, GOOD BEAUTY was shifted across behind runners. Also from wide barriers, GOLD COMET and CROWN AVENUE were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Making the turn after passing the winning post on the first occasion, DECISIVE ACTION got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of NOBODY KNOWS. Near the 900 Metres, RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE raced tight inside SUN OF MAKFI which got its head on the side and lay in away from AHEAD A HEAD. SUN OF MAKFI was then bumped by AHEAD A HEAD approaching the 800 Metres. Approaching the 500 Metres, CHIRON was held up behind METHANE. Passing the 450 Metres, DECISIVE ACTION became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by NOBODY KNOWS which lay out. Then passing the 150 Metres, DECISIVE ACTION got its head on the side and lay in under pressure. The performance of AHEAD A HEAD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AHEAD A HEAD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of AHEAD A HEAD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of GOLD COMET, CHIRON, GOOD BEAUTY and NOBODY KNOWS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BLOTTING PAPER and SUN OF MAKFI were sent for sampling.
