Whilst in the holding stalls, SMILING TIME had its right hind plate refitted. SMILING TIME was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. PERFECT TO GREAT, which brushed a rail on entering the track, was also examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. KEEN UNITY shifted out at the start and bumped BELL OF HAPPINESS. ALL IS READY shifted out on jumping and bumped FLYING MOJITO which was then crowded for room inside FLYING SILVER which became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by FLYING MOJITO. RAINBOW LIGHT shifted in abruptly at the start despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in SMILING TIME being crowded for room outside NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE which was hampered when bumped by SMILING TIME. After this, SMILING TIME was shifted across to obtain a position closer to the rail. NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE was also steadied to obtain cover. From the outside barriers, PACKING MONKEYKING, PERFECT TO GREAT and OWNERS’ STAR were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, KEEN UNITY commenced to travel very keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of ALL IS READY. Near the 900 Metres, FLYING MOJITO was shifted out away from the heels of BELL OF HAPPINESS after being awkwardly placed behind that horse which commenced to come under pressure. After this, FLYING MOJITO travelled wide and without cover. Passing the 900 Metres, SMILING TIME raced close to the heels of HAPPY ANGEL. PACKING MONKEYKING, which was following, was hampered in consequence and near the 750 Metres became unbalanced when racing very close to the heels of KEEN UNITY. PERFECT TO GREAT, which was following PACKING MONKEYKING, was awkwardly placed behind that horse in consequence and after the 750 Metres improved into tight running between PACKING MONKEYKING and BELL OF HAPPINESS. Approaching the 400 Metres, HAPPY ANGEL and ALL IS READY raced tight. PACKING MONKEYKING was held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn behind KEEN UNITY. C L Chau (HAPPY ANGEL) dropped his whip passing the 250 Metres. Passing the 150 Metres, OWNERS’ STAR was shifted out away from the heels of ALL IS READY to obtain clear running. FLYING SILVER and SMILING TIME were sent for sampling.
