MEGA BONUS jumped awkwardly, brushed the right side of its barrier and then shifted in abruptly before being corrected by its rider, Apprentice Y L Chung, resulting in MEGA BONUS becoming unbalanced and losing ground. CHEONG FAT jumped only fairly. FIERY FLYING brushed the left side of its barrier on jumping. From wide barriers, HIGH CLOUD and RACING FIGHTER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres, MEGA BONUS was steadied away from the heels of TURBO POWER. Also making the first turn near the 1000 Metres, HURRY HURRY RICH commenced to race keenly, was steadied away from FLYING ON THE TURF and made that turn wide, resulting in JAZZ STEED, which was positioned to the outside of HURRY HURRY RICH, being taken wider. HURRY HURRY RICH continued to race keenly and refused to settle throughout the middle stages, resulting in its rider, A Badel, allowing HURRY HURRY RICH to stride forward near the 800 Metres. When unable to cross the leaders, HURRY HURRY RICH was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter. The racing manners of HURRY HURRY RICH were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HURRY HURRY RICH will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial around a bend. A veterinary inspection of HURRY HURRY RICH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Passing the 600 Metres, HIGH CLOUD was steadied when crowded between JAZZ STEED which shifted in slightly and MEGA BONUS which shifted out and away from TURBO POWER. CHEONG FAT, which was following, was steadied in consequence. Approaching the 300 Metres, HIGH CLOUD became awkwardly placed behind HURRY HURRY RICH before shifting to that runner’s inside. Then near the 250 Metres, HIGH CLOUD and HURRY HURRY RICH made contact for some distance due to HURRY HURRY RICH shifting in as it commenced to give ground. As a result, HURRY HURRY RICH became unbalanced. Also approaching the 300 Metres, MEGA BONUS was shifted to the inside of FLYING ON THE TURF to continue into clear running. MEGA BONUS, FLYING ON THE TURF and ACT OF FAITH were sent for sampling.
