THESIS was withdrawn on 22.4.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, THESIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOOD BUDDY shifted in at the start and made contact with READY TO WIN. WONDER KIT jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CZARSON. NOBLE WIN jumped only fairly. On jumping, SETANTA was hampered when crowded between MIDORI BEAUTY and TEXAS MOON, both of which shifted ground. From the outside barriers, BRAVE DREAMS, GOOD BUDDY and READY TO WIN were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the middle stages, NOBLE WIN and BRAVE DREAMS raced keenly. Between the 350 Metres and the 300 Metres, E LEGEND was held up for clear running. Over the final 150 Metres, GOOD BUDDY was held up and could not be tested to the finish. For a short distance near the 100 Metres, NOBLE WIN was held up behind WONDER KIT. Near the 100 Metres, READY TO WIN was briefly held up when being shifted to the outside of REVE PARISIEN to obtain clear running. Over the concluding stages, MIDORI BEAUTY could not be ridden out when being eased away from CZARSON which shifted out. TEXAS MOON raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the race, S De Sousa (BRAVE DREAMS) reported that his mount’s action shortened over the final 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection of BRAVE DREAMS immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. Also after the race, M Chadwick (MIDORI BEAUTY) stated that his mount was not suited by the slow early pace and found it difficult to quicken in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of MIDORI BEAUTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of GOOD BUDDY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MIDORI BEAUTY, SETANTA, REVE PARISIEN and READY TO WIN were sent for sampling.
