HAPPY ALL AROUND was withdrawn on 14.9.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WONG’S SUCCESS (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY ALL AROUND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FORTUNE DRAGON was slow to begin. SUNNY SMILES and ROYAL PORTRAIT bumped on jumping. At the 1300 Metres, BAAZIGAR was crowded for room inside BEST POWER which got its head on the side and shifted in after making contact with CLASSIC KING. After the 800 Metres, PURE ALPHA proved difficult to settle. In the Straight, KOWLOON FIT hung in. For the major part of the race, SUNNY SMILES travelled wide and without cover. The performance of FORTUNE DRAGON, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE DRAGON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EVER KING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of EVER KING after the race did not show any significant findings. BAAZIGAR and CONNOISSEUR’S LOVE were sent for sampling.
