On March 24th (Conghua turf trial, 1000m: 3-1-1), the horse showed a good surge in the middle stages and ran straight to the finish. On March 7th (Conghua turf trial, 1200m: 3-4-2) he briefly led on the straight but his response under pressure was moderate. A further trial on March 15th (Happy Valley turf trial, 1200m: 4-4-9) saw him track the leaders before fading on the straight. On December 31st (dirt trial, 1200m: 4-3-1), he navigated the third bend well and showed an increasing burst of energy on the straight. In a race prior to April over the same distance, the horse was very disappointing, settling in a good position with a steady pace but failing to accelerate and finishing poorly. After a long break, the horse has completed four barrier trials showing improvement. Making its Hong Kong debut after transferring stables, the horse faces a 17-pound weight increase this race and a time difference within the same group which is unfavorable. The trainer and jockey don’t appear to be a strong pairing, though it may have the speed to lead. James Orman has taken the ride, gaining some understanding of the horse's capabilities but doesn’t seem to have a clear strategy.
