ORIENTAL SURPRISE

On March 28th, during a Conghua turf trial over 1200m, the horse took an early lead but weakened towards the finish. On April 20th, in a Conghua turf trial over 1600m, it jumped slightly slow but managed to take the lead; however, its pace wasn't strong. Eight weeks ago, it ran poorly on dirt over 1200m, with a slow start and finishing at the back of the pack with no impressive sections, resulting in a significant loss. After a short break, two barrier trials showed only moderate performance. In its most recent run over a Happy Valley 1200m, it will carry ten pounds less this time but faces tough competition within its group and is expected to race from behind; however, its finishing kick isn’t strong enough to challenge the rivals. Despite an advantageous barrier draw, it's likely to be a longshot.
