Three weeks ago, in a dirt trial at Conghua over 1200m (sections recorded as 3-3-4), the horse ran along the rail and was not far behind. Five weeks prior, it delivered a disappointing performance on Sha Tin turf over 1400m, with a slow start, settling towards the rear, maintaining a steady pace but lacking a strong finishing kick, ultimately resulting in a significant defeat. A subsequent barrier trial showed acceptable form. Now switching to Happy Valley over a mile for its first attempt at this distance, the horse will carry a three-pound weight reduction. The step up in distance is expected to suit it, and drawing a good barrier positions it well to potentially track the pace. Compared to other contenders, it possesses a higher level of ability. Derek Leung takes the ride, with some familiarity regarding the horse's capabilities; even if lacking a strong finishing kick or a perfect trainer-jockey rapport, a clean break and commitment to tracking the leaders should see it finish among the frontrunners.
