Three weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over 1800m at Happy Valley, jumping moderately and settling towards the back. He maintained a steady pace but was overtaken by Russian Courage, finishing within two lengths in sixth place. In a recent trial on the Sha Tin turf over 1800m, he will carry three pounds less this time. Times were comparable with his rivals, allowing him to secure a good position tracking the leaders. An advantageous inside barrier draw further enhances his chances. Assessing overall strength, this horse is relatively superior; gatework has been intensified in recent track work sessions and appears stronger at the barriers, however, lacks a strong finishing kick and may be best suited to a pace-setting strategy.
