On April 15th, a turf trial at Conghua over 1200m saw the horse tracking the pace but not showing its full potential. Four weeks ago, it ran prominently on Sha Tin turf over 1400m, jumping slowly and settling towards the back before finishing with fast closing sections to secure third place, beaten three and a half lengths. A subsequent barrier trial didn’t reveal any improvement. Now stepping up to a Sha Tin mile for its debut on turf, it will race without any additional weight. The distance increase is expected to suit; drawing an inside barrier suggests a hold-up strategy. Its finishing kick makes it one of the stronger contenders in the field and it possesses a clear advantage in ability over other horses, though a strong performance isn't guaranteed.
