Three weeks ago (April 15th) in a dirt trial at Conghua over 1000m, the horse ran smoothly in third to fourth position. On April 11th, also in a Conghua turf trial over 1000m, it settled back and followed the pace aiming for participation. Seven weeks ago, in a race over the same distance, performance was poor; a slow start saw it settle towards the rear with a steady pace but no finishing kick, resulting in a significant defeat. Two barrier trials have been completed without showing marked improvement. This time carrying a 3lb weight reduction, facing a time difference within its group and drawing a wide barrier, its finishing speed is questionable, presenting an unfavorable situation. However, it has the ability to track the leaders and potentially race on pace; gatework has been emphasized with pre-race exercises suggesting preparation for a strong showing. If it jumps cleanly and commits to tracking the pace, improvement is possible.
