On April 24th (dirt trial 1200m, running positions of each section: 8-8-8), the horse travelled on the outside throughout, losing ground while tracking. Three weeks ago, in a Sha Tin 1800m race, the performance was below expectations; it jumped slowly and settled towards the rear before making a late run with fast sections. One barrier trial showed no significant improvement. Another turf trial over 2000m this time sees a three-pound weight reduction. The horse has previous form at this distance, recording good sectionals against its peers. It's expected to settle back in the field and rely on a strong finishing kick – the strongest in its group. Overall shape is favorable; compared to other contenders, it possesses a higher level of ability. Horse and jockey are a good match but drawing an outside barrier and a perceived lack of chemistry between horse and trainer are concerns.
