On 2/5, the horse recorded (dirt trial 1200m: 3-3-2), pushing strongly for second place and closing the gap. On 8/4, a turf trial over 1600m saw him (3-3-3-8), not overly fast early on but tiring in the straight. A further trial at Conghua over 1000m on 24/3 was recorded as (5-3-7) racing near the rail and making ground under restraint. In April, during a race over this same distance, the performance was below expectations, settling well tracking the leaders but lacking acceleration. Returning from a spell, three barrier trials have been undertaken showing slight improvement. The horse has dropped 39 pounds in body weight, but is now required to carry five pounds more this time; conditions are therefore not ideal. Despite comparable times within the group and an advantageous barrier draw, a hold-up tactic will be employed, relying on a strong finishing kick which is considered the best in its class. The horse is undergoing positive work.
