While showing early speed, a clear acceleration wasn't evident, maintaining a steady pace and appearing more suited to a mile distance. On 6/5, he trialled over 1050m on dirt (8-7-8), with an unremarkable start and limited drive in the straight. A trial on 22/4 over 1050m on dirt saw him take initiative (1-1-2) but was overtaken near the finish. On 8/4, he trialled over 1050m on dirt (4-3-2), taking an inside position after a slight eagerness around the turn. His most recent trial on 25/3 over 1050m on dirt showed him leading from the rail and being pulled up when showing good form (1-1-3). Making his debut as a new winner, he began training in Hong Kong in early January. This race is his first start; however, he has drawn a less favorable barrier, suggesting observation of this run is advised before further assessment.
