On May 23rd, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse clear space in the final 200m and respond well. Seven weeks ago, this horse ran respectably over Sha Tin’s 1400m, jumping slowly but settling towards the rear before making a mid-race move, maintaining a strong gallop to finish fourth, beaten three and a half lengths – a good performance level. A subsequent barrier trial showed slight improvement. Stepping up in class, this horse will return to Sha Tin over 1200m with an 11lb weight reduction. Having previously recorded two wins at this distance and drawing an inside barrier, a hold-up tactics is expected given its strong finishing kick. The trainer and jockey appear to have good synergy and the horse should not be underestimated.
