On May 23rd, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse settling in a comfortable position but hampered towards the finish, preventing a full effort. Four weeks ago, it performed well over a Sha Tin 1600m, tracking the leaders with a good pace and launching an attack in the middle stages, maintaining a strong gallop. A recent barrier trial showed limited improvement. Returning from Conghua, its last run was at Happy Valley over 1800m. This race requires a 15lb rise in weight, however it has three wins at this distance previously, and recorded the fastest time amongst its group. It is expected to be competitive upfront and draws a favorable barrier. Based on the horse’s ability, it appears to be the strongest contender in this race. Derek Leung takes the ride, a jockey known for his good partnership with this horse. A clean jump and intent to lead are crucial for a strong performance.
