Three weeks ago, this horse performed well over a Sha Tin 2000m distance, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. He made a strong effort in the middle stages, finishing with a good two-section burst to secure fourth place, beaten three and a half lengths – a respectable performance. Following that run, he trialled over 1400m at Sha Tin; this time carrying six extra pounds, having shown previous form over this course and distance, posting the best time amongst its group. The tactics will be to settle towards the rear with a strong finishing kick expected to be the strongest in the field. Despite drawing an outside barrier, connections believe this horse is the most capable in the race based on its ability, though there’s some concern regarding trainer-jockey compatibility.
