Maintaining a steady pace throughout, it lacked a finishing kick but wasn’t beaten far, losing by three and a half lengths. In a subsequent straight course trial, this time he will carry two pounds more weight. The section times were comparable to other horses in the group, suggesting the ability to track the leaders. He is expected to follow the pace if able to jump cleanly and should be capable of finishing among the front runners with a good start.
