Three weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over 1800m at Happy Valley, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. He made progress in the middle stages, maintaining a good rhythm but was ultimately beaten two and a half lengths for fifth place. Following that run, he trialled over a mile at Happy Valley; this time he will carry one pound more weight. Despite having secured two wins over this distance previously and holding his own against comparable horses, the barrier draw is not ideal. However, he possesses a clear advantage in ability compared to other runners, with the jockey demonstrating a thorough understanding of the horse's temperament and a good rapport with the trainer. Connections are hoping for a solid performance.
