On March 6th (Turf trial 1000m: 6-9-7), the horse was urged forward from the 400m mark but lacked early pace. On May 20th (Dirt trial 1200m: 7-7-10), he struggled to keep up with the pace around the bend and showed a lack of stamina. A turf trial over 1000m in Conghua on April 28th saw him accelerate from the 200m mark with reasonable response. Another turf trial in Conghua on April 11th (1000m: 5-1-4) showed him moving up after the halfway point and maintaining a steady pace under pressure. On March 28th, over 800m in Conghua (4-4-1), he accelerated after the halfway point with a good finishing kick. This is his debut run as a new horse; he began light training in Hong Kong in early January. Five trials this season have yielded unremarkable results, exhibiting a low stride length and short-distance footwork but lacking sufficient early speed. He demonstrates willingness to chase, however, and is still building up strength for his first race. A watching brief is recommended at this stage.
