Seven weeks ago, this horse performed poorly in a straight course race, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear with an even pace but lacking any notable acceleration. A subsequent turf trial over 1200m sees the horse benefit from a two-pound weight reduction, however, it recorded slower times compared to others in its group, presenting an unfavorable situation. The trainer-jockey combination isn't ideal, and despite drawing an inside barrier, a rearward position is anticipated. While possessing strong finishing kick amongst its peers, jockey Matthew Chadwick takes the reins, familiar with the horse’s temperament, and pre-race conditioning has yet to reveal positive signs.
