On June 27th, a turf trial over 1200m in Conghua saw the horse showing promise (5-6-3), appearing to have ample stamina. Three weeks ago, over the same distance, it ran very well, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear before accelerating strongly in the final two sections to finish fourth. A recent barrier trial was unremarkable. This time, the horse needs to carry three pounds more weight and has drawn an outside barrier. The plan is to settle towards the back of the field but finishing speed may not be competitive enough against rivals. Trainer-jockey combination isn’t ideal, despite having secured three wins over this distance with respectable sectionals times.
