GREAT LEGACY

On April 7th (dirt trial 1200m: 8-8-6), the horse was urged around the bend but showed little improvement. On June 24th (dirt trial 1200m: 2-3-7) he broke well early on, but faded in the straight. On March 3rd (turf trial 1050m: 4-4-5), he shifted inwards at the 300m mark and lacked a strong response to urging. May 22nd (dirt trial 1200m: 6-7-9) saw him weaken mid-race and drop back sharply. September 9th (Happy Valley turf trial 1000m: 9-9-9), he was urged in the straight but lacked maturity. Three months ago, in a straight course race, the performance was poor; slow out of the gate, settled towards the rear with a steady pace and no finishing burst. After a short break, five barrier trials were undertaken without showing significant improvement. Making his debut over Happy Valley’s 1200m this time, he will carry one pound more than his last start weight, drawing a poor barrier requiring a backmarker position. Finishing kick is inferior to rivals and the overall situation looks unfavorable, however, an increase in distance should suit him.
