On August 26th (dirt trial 1200m: 7-7-7), the horse was hampered on the straight and didn’t get a good run. This is his seasonal debut, having only had one barrier trial which didn't reveal much. Another turf trial over 1400m has been completed; this time he will carry an additional three pounds. Despite two previous wins at this distance and comparable times within the group, a hold-up tactic appears likely given his strong finishing kick. Hugh Bowman takes the ride, having some familiarity with the horse’s capabilities, and the trainer and jockey have a good rapport. Preparations seem adequate but the barrier draw is not favorable; a slow start may be anticipated.
