On September 5th, the horse completed a dirt trial over 1200m in sections of 9-9-8, settling back in the field. This is his debut run this season and he showed insufficient progress in his first barrier trial. In a subsequent Happy Valley turf trial over 1800m, he will carry a three-pound weight reduction this time but recorded slower sectionals compared to other horses in the same group. He had to be held up during the trial with a weak finishing kick and an unfavourable run position. The trainer/jockey combination isn't ideal, however, the horse has demonstrated previous success at this distance. An advantageous barrier draw and jockey’s understanding of race tempo suggest a potential finish within the first place.
