On September 26th (dirt trial 1200m: 3-4-4), the horse was given a light ride on the straight and didn't show acceleration. On September 18th (Conghua dirt trial 1200m: 8-8-6), he had a slow start and lost ground throughout, finishing with a late surge. On September 4th (Conghua dirt trial 1200m: 5-5-5), the horse moved out wide on the turn and made some headway at the finish. After a long break, this is his seasonal debut. He has completed three barrier trials but hasn't kept pace with the required progress. This race he carries no extra weight and faces competition of similar ability; he’s expected to be keen to lead. Drawing a good barrier provides an advantageous position, relying on his overall strength, he appears to be the strongest contender in this event. Lyle Hewitson takes the ride, having some familiarity with the horse's capabilities. Showing good form on track, a clean break and intent to lead should see him perform well.
