Three weeks ago, this horse ran a respectable race over a Happy Valley 1200m, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear but showing a strong late run. He finished beaten three and a half lengths. Another trial over a Happy Valley mile is completed, carrying four pounds less this time with comparable sectionals to its rivals. The strategy will be to settle back in the field, relying on a powerful finishing kick. The jockey has some understanding of the horse’s capabilities, and trainer and jockey appear to have good communication. Despite drawing a poor barrier, it remains a horse to watch.
