Four weeks ago, this horse ran poorly over a Happy Valley 1200m, taking the lead but maintaining an even pace with no impressive sections. He finished seventh, beaten three lengths. A subsequent dirt trial over 1200m sees him carrying two pounds more weight this time. With a slower sectional time compared to other horses in the same group and drawing an outside barrier, his prospects are not ideal. Despite potential early speed, jockey Derek Leung replaces the previous rider with limited experience on this horse; however, trainer and jockey remain aligned in their assessment of the horse’s capabilities, leaving some opportunity for success.
