On October 14th, a turf trial over 1000m showed an unremarkable performance with little to commend. On September 26th, in a dirt trial of 1050m, the horse maintained pace and steadily closed on the leaders during the straight. Seven weeks ago, in a race over the same distance, the performance was poor; settled well and tracked the pace with an even tempo but lacked a finishing burst. Two barrier trials have been completed without showing significant improvement. Returning from lower class this time, the horse is required to carry 17 pounds more weight, a disadvantageous situation despite comparable times within its group, and pre-race work has not indicated any promising signs.
