BIG STRIDE

On October 23rd, (dirt trial 1200m: 6-6-5), the jump out was average and lacked early pace. Three weeks ago, this horse ran very well over a Sha Tin 1400m turf track, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear before making a strong late run with fast sectionals, finishing three and a half lengths behind the winner. A recent barrier trial showed no significant improvement in fitness. Switching to Happy Valley mile for its debut at this distance, carrying a two-pound weight reduction and drawing a favorable barrier, the strategy is to settle back and rely on a strong finishing kick – considered the best in the group. Despite potential concerns regarding the suitability of the distance and unfavorable conditions, an unexpected performance is possible.
