On March 13th, this horse recorded a strong turf trial over 1700m (sections of 3-3-3-1), saving ground to take a comfortable victory. In early April, over the same distance in its last run, it performed well; a slow start saw it settle towards the back before accelerating through the final two sections to secure second place, narrowly beaten by half a length. Having been off for some time, it has recently undergone one barrier trial showing signs of improvement. This race requires a 5lb weight increase; despite favorable times within the group and potential to track the leading pace-setters, it may need to settle towards the back. While drawing a good barrier and benefiting from trainer/jockey confidence with thorough preparation, its finishing kick might not be as strong as rivals. The overall race shape is therefore considered challenging and a finish amongst the placings is hoped for.
