FORERUNNER

Two weeks ago, over a Sha Tin 1400m course, the horse ran respectably, settling well and tracking the leaders with a reasonable finish. It was beaten three and a half lengths. Now switching to Happy Valley over 1200m for its first attempt at this distance, the trip is considered unsuitable and recent trial form hasn't been impressive. The barrier draw isn’t ideal, and it lacked a strong finishing kick in its last run. While benefiting from a one-pound weight reduction and maintaining a good on-track position with familiar jockey/trainer pairing, expectations remain modest.
