February 24th, turf trial over 800m recorded sections of 6-5-1 with a strong finish to win. Four weeks ago, in the same distance race, performance was poor; slow start, settled at the back of the field with a steady pace throughout and an unremarkable run. A subsequent barrier trial showed some improvement. Racing this time after morning workouts, the horse faces a 14-pound weight increase and has failed to win in three attempts over this distance. Facing tough competition based on timing, the unfavorable barrier draw and a tendency to run from behind suggest limited finishing kick. Trainer-jockey combination isn’t particularly strong, however morning track work remains promising and the horse shouldn't be completely discounted.
