On March 6th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse settling towards the rear and failing to show significant progress. Two months ago, in a Sha Tin mile race, the performance was disappointing; a slow start led to settling at the back of the field with an unremarkable pace throughout. A recent barrier trial didn’t demonstrate sufficient improvement. Switching to Happy Valley over a mile for its debut at this distance, it will carry one pound more weight this time and faces a disadvantageous course configuration. Its time difference in comparison to other horses is unfavorable, the barrier draw is poor requiring a hold-up tactic, and the finishing kick isn't expected to match rivals. The trainer-jockey combination hasn’t been particularly successful, making it unlikely to be a winning contender this race.
