On March 6th, a turf trial over 1200m at Conghua saw the horse move out for a clear run and finish with a strong finishing kick. Three weeks ago in a race over the same distance, it performed respectably, settling back in the field but only beaten three and a half lengths – demonstrating good ability. A recent barrier trial showed slight improvement. This time with a five-pound weight reduction, against reasonable section times in its group, and drawing a favorable barrier, preparation has been thorough. Despite four previous defeats over this course and distance, and some concerns regarding finishing speed, it still appears capable of securing a place.
