21/4 (Dirt trial 1200m: 6-6-2) tracked inside on the straight, accelerating nicely. 10/4 (Conghua turf trial 1200m: 4-4-1) burst clear on the straight for an easy win. 30/3 (Conghua turf trial 800m: 2-3-3) showed slight promise, a standard performance. 18/10 (Happy Valley turf trial 1200m: 8-7-1) slowed down around the 900m mark, found proper stride in the 200m, and surged forward. 26/9 (Conghua turf trial 1200m: 4-5-4) travelled on the outside, following instructions well. 12/9 (Conghua turf trial 1000m: 6-7-2) moved up in the second half and maintained his run. After a long break, this is an early start to the season. Last time out in Sha Tin over 1400m, he was very disappointing; he jumped slowly, stayed towards the rear, and his late run weakened significantly, resulting in a heavy defeat. He has since completed six barrier trials with improvement. A recent Sha Tin 1200m trial showed a weak time, and the conditions were disadvantageous with a poor draw; his late drive was slightly inferior. Fortunately, his morning work showed he is fitting in well and has good synergy with the jockey, and there appear to be no further concerns.
