22/5 dirt trial 1200m: started strongly but lacked late impetus. Five weeks ago, over a Happy Valley mile, the horse performed poorly; slow to jump out and ran in the rear with an even pace throughout, gradually recovering ground in the final stages. A recent trial showed acceptable performance. A return run over Sha Tin 1200m saw the horse at a disadvantage due to time gaps in the group, with an unideal position and slightly weaker closing speed; jockey and trainer coordination was unremarkable, suggesting no real plan.
