HIGH PRAISE

On May 26th, in a turf trial over 1000m (5-5-3), the horse was quiet in the early stages, picked up pace around 200m, and moved up to third place. Five weeks ago, in a dirt race over 1200m, the performance was poor; he was slow to jump out and stayed towards the rear, with a weakening finish. He suffered a heavy defeat. After one trial run, there was slight improvement. Now moving to Sha Tin over 1200m for the first time, he will carry an extra five pounds in this race. The distance is not ideal for him, and with the time difference within the group, his prospects are somewhat disadvantaged. Running towards the rear in the race, his finishing kick may not match his rivals'. The jockey-trainer combination is not yet ideal. Fortunately, preparations have been serious, and some lack of performance is understandable.
