(Dirt trial 1200m: settling behind, conservative on the straight). Three weeks ago, this horse performed excellently over a Happy Valley mile. Although he was slow to get going and tracked the pace, he ran steadily throughout, making up significant ground in the final stages to finish as runner-up, beaten only a half length. A recent barrier trial showed he was not pushed hard enough. In his last run over 1600m on Sha Tin turf, he performed well, and the pace in that group was acceptable. He needs to track the pace again, but his finishing kick is among the strongest in the field, placing him high on this race's assessment. The jockey is familiar with this horse, and the trainer-jockey relationship shows strong synergy. His morning workouts remain promising, giving him potential to win again on this run.
