In a dirt trial over 1050m (dirt trial 1050m: section 5-5-3), he was the quickest out of the stalls and maintained his pace, finishing 3rd after being prompted around the two-hundred-meter mark. Two months ago in a race over the same distance, his performance was sluggish; he settled well near the front but weakened in the final stages, resulting in a heavy defeat. After two subsequent trials, there has been slight improvement. He is carrying an extra four pounds this time. Having lost all seven previous races, his timing has not been outstanding, and the circumstances are unfavorable; coupled with a poor draw, victory is unlikely. However, his late burst of speed is the strongest in this field, and given thorough preparation prior to the race, he should be considered a potential outsider.
