Three months ago, this horse performed exceptionally well over a mile on the dirt, holding a good position tracking the pace and still possessing momentum in the straight, finishing runner-up beaten only half a length. Two recent trials were not up to standard pace. In his last run over a Happy Valley mile, he secured two wins; the time in this group was acceptable. He can hold a good position tracking the leaders and is rated among the highest in this race; connections' strategy is well-aligned, but he needs to carry eight pounds more this time and his late burst of speed is slightly inferior; nonetheless, he remains a key contender.
