8/6 (Sha Tin turf trial 1000m: 7-5-5) ran steadily along the rail, a standard performance. Seven weeks ago, he performed reasonably well over 1400m on Sha Tin turf. He was slow to leave the barrier, settled back, maintained a consistent pace throughout, and gradually closed in at the finish. Fortunately, he didn't carry too much weight, finishing only three lengths behind. A recent trial showed no improvement. In a subsequent 1200m Sha Tin turf trial, the circumstances were somewhat disadvantageous; running from the back in a competitive run, his finishing kick might not match his rivals'. The jockey and trainer do not appear to be in perfect sync. However, the time recorded was acceptable, coupled with a one-pound allowance this time, making him a potential dark horse contender.
