Two weeks ago, this horse performed respectably over 1400m on Sha Tin turf; he was slow to get going from the gate, settled in the rear, maintained a steady pace throughout, and gradually regained ground in the final stages. Fortunately, he was not far behind, finishing only two and a half lengths behind. Moving to Happy Valley turf for the mile for the first time, he carried four pounds less this time and showed acceptable timing. Drawing a good barrier, he raced in the rear, and his finishing kick was the most potent in his group. Even if the circumstances or the jockey-trainer combination are not ideal, he can still be considered a decent partner.
