Five weeks ago, this horse performed well over a Happy Valley mile, jumping slowly and settling towards the rear. A strong late run saw him finish second, beaten only one length – demonstrating good ability. He has since trialed over a Happy Valley 1800m and will carry just a two-pound increase in weight for this race. Having proven form over this distance, he’s expected to settle back again with a finishing kick. The horse is in good barrier draw position, the trainer and jockey have a strong relationship, showing recent gate work and appears sharp on the track; despite facing tough competition from within his group, a poor barrier draw shouldn't deter him from performing well.
