FOKINE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped PHANTOM THIEF. SUNNY KING shifted in at the start and bumped WATCH WHAT HAPPENS. EASY began awkwardly. LU YUE was slow to begin and then finished distanced. LU YUE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LU YUE after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LU YUE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LU YUE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. From the outside barrier, LASER POWER was taken across behind runners and near the 1100 Metres was steadied away from the heels of FOKINE. In the early stages, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS proved difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BULB KING. In the early part of the Straight, SUNNY KING was shifted out around WATCH WHAT HAPPENS to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, HARB travelled wide and without cover. G Mossé (LUCKY WINNER) reported the horse was not striding out properly and for this reason he eased the horse down over the latter part of the Straight. LUCKY WINNER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY WINNER after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BYRON was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, BYRON was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart beat. Before being allowed to race again, BYRON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EASY, which finished tailed out, was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, EASY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The performance of EASY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, EASY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS, LASER POWER and BEAR MACHO were sent for sampling.
