CRUSH ON YOU was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, WINNING PATTERN was taken across behind runners in the early stages. Making the first turn, WITHALLMYHEART got its head up and hung out. After the 700 Metres, TELECOM TYCOON was carried into a three wide position without cover when STEP FORWARD shifted out from behind FISHKING EXCELLENT. From on straightening until the 100 Metres, WINNING PATTERN was not able to obtain clear running and because of this was not fully tested. Shortly after straightening, MACAROON was bumped by SPARKLE which shifted in. Also shortly after straightening, OH GREAT, which was endeavouring to find clear running, was steadied and shifted to the inside of FISHKING EXCELLENT, then after the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of WITHALLMYHEART which was giving ground. Shortly after straightening, TOUCH DOWN, which was being shifted out to obtain clear running, was steadied away from the heels of WINNING PATTERN. At the 250 Metres, STEP FORWARD was disappointed for running between TELECOM TYCOON and PURPLE GOLD. After the 250 Metres, CRUSH ON YOU was steadied when disappointed for running between DENDRANTHEMA LOVE and TOUCH DOWN which shifted out, then after the 200 Metres was steadied away from the heels of WINNING PATTERN. CRUSH ON YOU and WITHALLMYHEART were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CRUSH ON YOU and WITHALLMYHEART after the race did not show any significant findings. TOUCH DOWN, FISHKING EXCELLENT and SPARKLE were sent for sampling.
